Hi,
I wanted to share a progress update following the PRP treatments for my knee.
Pre-Treatment Condition (Before 1st PRP):
• Bending the knee was painful due to a cyst /meniscus tear; I couldn’t go down stairs while bearing weight on the affected leg.
• The knee felt stiff and swollen, and the kneecap was especially painful when walking downhill.
• Going upstairs was only manageable one step at a time.
• The IT band and hamstrings were extremely tight, and muscle cramped
Supplements & Adjunct Therapies:
• I began taking Integrative Therapeutics Glucosamine Sulfate (2/day) and 1000mg Vitamin C daily.
• I scheduled chiropractic sessions two days before each PRP injection, focusing on:
• Lymphatic drainage
• Muscle and IT band release
• Ultrasound therapy
• Red laser treatment
After 1st PRP:
• Noticed a reduction in swelling and tightness around the knee.
• Pain persisted while bending and especially when walking downstairs
• Going downstairs remained difficult—I couldn’t bear weight long enough to complete one step fully.
• I started physical therapy shortly after.
After 2nd PRP:
• Marked improvement in stair mobility: walking both up and down became much easier almost as before
• Within a couple of weeks, I was able to walk down stairs normally and bend the knee without the sharp pinching sensation.
• The hamstring is now relaxed, and PT is ongoing.
• There’s still a mild, dull sensation around the kneecap when walking downhill sometimes, but for most of the day, I’m pain-free.
I’ll check in again in a couple of weeks after completing the third PRP session and additional PT sessions to report further progress.
Thanks so much I feel very well taken care of.
Warm regards,
-G.S.
